Motivation?  Reply with quote

I am not one of the lucky people out there that either run thier own studios or work in them as a fulltime job. There are not many job oppourtunites in my area! So the music production i do, is more of a hobby, as i work at another job compeltely (designing kitchens lol!).

So getting to my point. I tend to make tracks of my own. But recently, i have lost complete motivation to make my own tracks! And i cant seem to get myself to sit down and get stuck into a track. I jsut cant seem to get going! If i do start, i find myself bored, or not liking what i said. I guess its like writers block!

So does anyone have any ideas on how i can get hte motivation and the creativity back?? Im just at a loss! Has anyone else had these problems? How have you delt with them?

Cheers

Make a brake.
Make a change.
Do something new or old that is interesting enough to take whole of your attention,
Routine is a killer for creativity!
You need impulses to translate them into music.

Conquering the block..  Reply with quote

Yep similar to the writer's block! Today was one of those days for me too..

*You could take a break - go take a hike, fly a kite or play with a venomous snake. Very Happy
*Drawn inspiration from something different - listen to music that is a total contrast to what you listen to.
*If you can play multiple instruments, switch from your primary instrument to the other one
*Pick a favourite track (by another artist - no, not one of yours!) and listen to it backwards (really helpful sometimes!!)
*Try a VSTi which you have never used before
*Go buy a lottery ticket, who knows you may get your own studio sooner than you expect Wink

Confused
