Hi, Im having trouble with my sound.
I use a Tele/ernieball 10's through acouple of stomp box fx's(turbo rat-marshall jackhammer-boss chorus-boss delay) into a fender twin.
One day ill have a good sound (dave gillmour/Larry carlton'ish) clean amp setting little bit of overdrive chorus and delay
Go home from rehersals come back the next day totaly diffrent sound coming back to me, nothing has been alterd but i'll have to fiddle for ages to get it agian, could any body help!!!!
Im not too good understanding E.Q's and stuff, just playing by ear but if anyone could sugest any tips or good tried and tested examples of how to blend bass-mid-trebles for a nice thick round but brite sound without to much low end and not to bitey useing sim set up would be a god send.
Thanks Tony. |

Hmm Tony, sounds a little strange if your sound changes from day to day, it shouldn't change at all if the setttings are not touch.. hmmm
So you are saying you do get the sound you want and then the next day it sound different?
You know the ear does used to a sound after a period of time and perhaps you could be in this loop. i.e. tweaking it and getting used to it and think hey I like this, only to find that after a break from it and coming back you release you don't?
This does happen with mixing a record, and it is good practise to take regular breaks from mixing for this very reason, to come back and re0think the sound.
Also, isn't a tele + fender twin a very "thin" sound?
That Gimore/Carlton sound would require lots of compression and thick mids I would think.
Hope that helps. _________________ It's all in the ears. - Learn the concepts not the software.
