hehe I just noticed this had not been replied.
MACs just do don't it for me for a number of reasons:
1. Over priced
2. Very difficult to upgrade, basically you gotta buy a new one
3. Over priced software
4. No better performance compared to a PC of same spec
5. Much lower user-base therefore less apps developed
6. I don't like the workflow.
7. This list could go on and on. _________________ It's all in the ears. - Learn the concepts not the software.

Have Your Say!
1. Over priced: two responses, firstly, dont buy them from the expensive shops then. secondly, perhaps they are more expensive than PC's, but the hardware is better quality to begin with for a start and they come with a whole host of software packages at no extra cost. plus they have the style, clean lines and light weight (not to mention the screen) thats worth paying extra for IMO.
2. Difficult to upgrade: which mac are you using?? give me a stick of a ram and screwdriver. pretty much every component is replaceable and uprgradeable if you know how to fit it and where to get the parts.
3. Over priced software: I can get office for mac cheaper than i can get office 2003 with a student discount. AND its by far the better package.
4. No better performance: everyone knows thats wrong, just look at the benchmarking, besides Vista needs 256mb of graphics memory JUST TO RUN!! ive run OSX happily on my old 500mhz iMac G3 (8mb of video memory) and it ran photoshop faster than my 2ghz athlon 64 running XP home.
5. Perhaps but its all UNIX based, any software can be ported if you know how. besides theres always bootcamp or VPC if you really cant be bothered.
6. Personal opinion, its a marmite thing, u love em or you dont.
7. So could my responses _________________ If In Doubt...Hit It With a Hammer, If Still In Doubt... Find a Bigger Hammer. |

Yup, it is a matter of choice, I only responded to get you fired up Wailing.
Makes little difference what machine is in a studio, I'll use it, out of choice I'd opt for PC. There are superb albums made with a MAC and superb albums made with a PC.
It's just why menus are in restaurants, we all like different things.
This argument is old these days and will continue being old forever. _________________ It's all in the ears. - Learn the concepts not the software.
