As you all know, ACF+ is run by a crack team of hardened super-moderators.

But how much do you know about these men of steel?

I'll bully as many mods as possible into introducing themselves here, and letting us know what they are up to right now in the real world.

Feel free to ask awkward and embarassing questions! Twisted Evil

Hi everyone,

my name is Ben Morgan - some of you already know me and others may have read some of my articles that have appeared on the site.

My main role at Audiocourses is that of Production Advisor and Contributing Editor.

I live in Cornwall in the UK but don't have the accent luckily!

Outside Audiocourses I am a freelance engineer/producer, a semi-professional guitarist and bass guitarist, PC builder and also work for a jingle/audio-ident company as an engineer, composer and musician. I also do the odd bit of web and graphic design.

I've used several platforms over the years including Octamed (Commodore Amiga!), Pro Tools, Soundscape, Logic, Cakewalk/Sonar, Acid, CEP etc but I've ended up using Cubase almost exclusively as I like it's MIDI implementation, VST architecture as well as it's audio engine.

In my spare time I like to play and write music. I co-write, play instruments and produce in the duo 'delaware' - www.delawaremusic.co.uk - and play bass guitar in the band 'exelby' - www.myspace.com/exelby

The music I'm listening to most at present is Zero 7, Beth Orton, Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins, Bluegrass, Scissor Sisters, Dixie Chicks etc I'm also a big fan of deep/funky house and laid back electronica a la Kinobe/Bent etc

When I'm not playing/reading/thinking about music I'm watching/thinking about football (I'm a Liverpool supporter!) or reading about psychology/evolutionary theories/anthropology etc God, that sounds nerdier than sound engineering!! Laughing

You may also find me in a variety of pubs throughout the week.

Phew, I'll stop typing now.

Hello all,

My name is Varun Nair, been on the ACF since 2004.

I actually started off as a musician, but now I think I'm hardly one! But I do still play the instruments I know when I can, professionaly I prefer the console to the drum sticks or guitar pick.

I live in Mumbai, India - home town is Bangalore though. I work as a full time audio engineer (over time rather!) and enjoy working on any of the major DAWs.. Though I'm more used to Pro Tools now as it dominates the industry the most. But if its down to MIDI - Cubase/Nuendo/Logic any time!

Other than working overtime, I enjoy reading (almost anything - from the economics of the country to sci-fi/fantasy/fiction/classics/poetry/philosophy), writing (now mostly lyric-poetry based), and of course listening to music..

Right now the music I listen to includes The Postal Service, Sigur Ros (I can never have enough of them - simply amazing!), Mew and more mainstream stuff like Snow Patrol, Kula Shaker, Collective Soul and Death Cab for Cutie.

Thats about it I guess..

Oh, Paul, if I can count right, its five on one hand..

Alright since Varun has refused to tell you what i do....well right now i'm working as a studio supervisor at S.A.E, Mumbai, India. I also study here. So right now it's work and study for me which is very hectic i must say.
I've also become a full time audio technology student after having my fair share of time on the stage pounding skins!......
.....As far as listening to music goes......my taste varies from indian classical (zakir hussain, viliat ali khan, bhimsen joshi etc) to stuff like Zero7, portishead, radiohead, perfect circle, arctic monkey, nitin swaheny etc etc........
.....and like varun said, working overtime has just become a habit these days.....but i guess it always has been that way.....
that's about it.......
