I purchased a firepod about a year ago but never loaded the Cubase LE software, now when I did the download goes fine but when I go to open the program it almost automatically closes, (saying this program has closed). I have an Mac powerbook G4 1.5GHz 1.0Gb running 10.3.9. I have since contacted Presonus and they sent me the latset version of Cubase LE 1.08, I downloaded this at the recommendation of Presonus and the download went fine as before, however the outcome is the same. As soon as I go to open the program it once again immediately closes. Can anyone help me please. I have also gone through and corrected the disk permissions and so forth with no change. |

Hi bofu2u,
two things to try, firstly, ctrl+click the cubase icon in the dock and select open at login. then restart the machine, if it opens, or stays open for longer than usual this may suggest that another program is clashing with it and causing the crash, or hogging system resources, any DAW will be processor intensive.
Second thing to try, insert your OSX system disk and restart the machine. hold down the C key to force it to boot from disc. once this is done you can select to reinstall OSX without deleting your personal files (make a backup first though just incase) this will reinstall all the system files that OSX and therefore cubase runs on. if it still doesnt work get back to me.

Just curious: what program were you using before the Cubase LE? if any program at all.
