I am in the market for a cable tester and have been doing some research into the various brands and have noticed that there really are not that many different ones available. There are several that are obviously manufactured by one company but sold by several different companies, with the only difference being the silk screening on the housings and of course the wide range of costs. So my question
is, can anyone recommend a particular brand and why? Also I am trying to find one that will check basically all types of cables, i.e. Speakon, XLR, 1/4" TRS, 1/4" TS, 5 pin Din (midi), 1/8" TS & TRS, TT (bantam), SPDIF, BNC, and RCA. I have been able to come up with two different testers at best to cover most of these. Maybe someone out there know's of an all-in-one? Thanks Bofu |

Hi Bofu,
I have used both of these and find them pretty solid.
Canford - EMO E445
and
Whirlwind MCT-7
Just one extra note, if its called a CT100 and has Behringer written on it....run away. _________________ If In Doubt...Hit It With a Hammer, If Still In Doubt... Find a Bigger Hammer. |
