| Help with Pro Tools! |
|
|
This is absolutely driving me crazy. I cannot for the life of me remember how to fix this problem. I have m-audio project mix with Pro Tools M-powered 7.1 connected to my mac via firewire. I have my speakers connected in as normal into the project mix.
Now. If I plug a microphone in and aim it at a guitar for example, and have the gain completely turned down on the channel and nothing record enabled or anything, i can still hear what the mic is picking me up when I turn the main out level on the project mix up. Its driving me insane lol! So when I actually record enable the tracks I hear like 2 sounds of the guitar which is very bad.
I have checked that my microphone settings on my mac are not wrong. The input in sound settings is set to internal microphone on the mac and is completed turned down. This is what I though was the causing it, but it still persists. Is there something in Pro Tools I need to adjust??
Please help! Cheers |

does the project mix have a "mix" control? that lets u adjust the balance between direct sound from the hardware and sound coming back from the software. this would be my first guess so have a look. _________________ If In Doubt...Hit It With a Hammer, If Still In Doubt... Find a Bigger Hammer. |

I am an absolute tool. After poking around more, I realised that the output of the mac sound was set to the project mix. As I use the controller for listening to music etc. I thought that once Pro Tools started, it automatically switched the output for the mac OS. Bizzzare. So its all working now. Was really doing my head in lol
Thanks anyway |
