Questions regarding iLok  Reply with quote

Ok I really dont understand these iLoks at all. Heres what i want to do;

I have an iLok which i have to use for Protools M-powered which came with the software. I am wanting to tryout the Bombfactory SansAmp plugin (£8 for 2 days, £15 for 14), but it says it requires an iLok (link is here - http://www.avidstore.com/uk/index.cfm?partnumber=9910-13146-00 )

Now my question is, can I use the same iLok i have for my pro tools for this plugin?? Want to make sure before i pay for the plugin! I am a bit of a noob with these, and I am scared it will wipe or do something to my pro tools ilok! I am pretty sure I heard people talking about using multiple plugins etc on one iLok. Is it possible? If so how?

Interested in trying this plug in to see if its any good. Been trying to record some bass, but I am finding, that it gets quite boomy. Could be the room and i am getting natural resonances or something. So interested to see if this is any good. Could still resort back to the mic amp mind you!

Cheers

ILok Key  Reply with quote

Hi calipso,

you can indeed have more than one plugin on an ilok key.

just go to www.ilok.com and sign up and it will show u which keys u have on your ilok, and then through this u can also add the bombfactory key.

I thought that, just wasnt sure. As my ilok as ProTools M-powered all written on it, and thought maybe its just for that.
