I am very curious about what TT or Bantam Male connectors are and what they are used for. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Bantam Jacks
Bantam connectors are simply small jacks, like a standard stereo jack but about 1/2 the size.
they are used pretty much exclusively in patch panels as you can get much more in a single unit of a rack. _________________ If In Doubt...Hit It With a Hammer, If Still In Doubt... Find a Bigger Hammer.

Thank you very much for your shared knowledge. I commonly use those cables actually, and I never knew that they were TT connectors. Why do they make XLR to TT cables?

Not all patch bays as you might have noticed are made of bantam jacks - you also have XLR/Phono/Grade B patchbays. An XLR to TT cable would probably be used for interconnecting. For an example - connecting a device with an XLR output into a Bantam patchbay.
