| Reason, Live and Pro Tools |

I recently got involved in Pro Tools, and received Ableton Live, and Reason with the MBox2 package. Can any of you intelligent folks tell me just exactly what Live and Reason are there for? If they are sequencer programs, why are they included with Pro Tools if Pro Tools itself is a sequencing program.
I am brand new to computer recording so any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Reason you can do lots of great things, but you cannot record audio in it. There are samplers and synths, drum machines and effects which can be used. Reason and Pro Tools are a great combo, as you can "rewire" them together. Basically you can control reason racks in Pro Tools and its all played in sync. The reason sequencer is ugly imo. it isn't accurate as Pro Tools and its a little fidley. I always use Rewire with Pro Tools.
As for Live. I don't use this as much, but I am sure this can be re-wired too, but not 100%. |
