I really hope someone can point me in the right direction with this one...
Although I know that a lot of freelance work is generated through contacts or word of mouth, I also know that there are agencies out there that provide work in a similar fashion to temp agencies like Addecco or Brook Street - but can I find them? The answer is a frustrated 'NO'!
A few years ago (when I was just a humble musician and engineering was a mysterious skill other people possesed) I met and Australian, working on a visa in this country, who was getting an enormous amount of location work for TV companies through an agency and she didn't make it sound like these agencies were an unusual thing or even a closley guarded secret - however, despite exhaustive searches on the web and scouring papers & magazines I'm still not having any luck locating even one.
I'm sure I'm just looking in the wrong places, can anyone even point me to a website or magazine that'll start me in the right direction?
I'd be very grateful!! |

Have a look at http://www.mandy.com
It's a job posting site and often you'll see who the agencies are that are posting the ads.

Hi there!
Is there a site like this for more audio oriented work? Like sound engineers, assistants, producers and so on?
