Greetings all,
I have an independent production underway. It's a compilation CD of local bands. Many bands are interested, but trying to get them to set a date to record is near impossible. I've heard all kinds of stories like, my girlfriend left me, we fired the drummer, the dog ate the lyrics, etc. 8O
So far, I've managed aligned the tape machine and printed tones on the tape. That took me an hour! Even at a low volume, alignment tones are annoying. It's a newer Studer, so I was able to store the alignment data on a DAT, so I won't have to do it again.
Talk to ya soon!

HI all
So Nancy good luck with that, and do we get to hear some of that once you have completed the project? I'm certainly interested.
Mike are you a Mac convert now?

Hi all!!
nice to see Nancy's busy!Good luck with your project.
Chrish as for the Mac convert The unit was a laptop with external sound card .The only thing at this point I would be interested in would be the external sound card he was using.
I finally found and bought through the US the program I've been looking for .
For what I do its great!
Its great! Called Magix music studio 2004 deluxe and Magix music maker 7 deluxe
The 2004 deluxe is a multiple function audio program.
Its for recordio audio and recording midi on multi track vst compatible and very user friendly.
Music maker is for the mastering part of the cd and also will register the final product with magix to publish and rate it on their web site with other artists.(like radio ratings top 40)
and finally between both programs you can make the video with digital cameras or analog feed camera I have'nt got that far yet but i've seen analog demos and there not bad.
I really like the multi media desktop system i have with the p4 chip
I wish my laptop had the p4 but it still works ok I got this one before the course.
Now I have to reconvert my studio to work on my own material for the rest of the summer.
bye for now
have fun

Hi Again!!
Something upbeat really happened to me just after I wrote my message this morning.
I received a phone call from a manager from a Supermall from Sudbury Ontario If I would be willing to produce a singing talent contest song project.
the contest is sponsored by one of the largest telecommunications company in Ontario in cooperation with a large chain of retail stores.
I have a meeting set up for wed july 23/03 for details to meet with officials at my studio.I was referered by local music stores and the band I'm working with now!
Wow what a break!! now I'm starting to get nervous!!
I will be part of the judging panel at the auditions and final picks in Aug.
I'll have more details on wed.I'll keep you up to date.
I know my music counterparts here are all exited about it and I'll be able to use some of the knowledge i've learned.I also have one of the largest studios available to me north of Toronto.
well gotta go I've got a lot of planning to do!!
later
Mike
ps. if anyone has any tips on judging throw them my way!! |
