I have used peak vst (crap!), Cool Edit Pro (the new version 2.0 is quite good), and have played with Nuendo (actually, I can't comment on it yet as an audio editor, but it's surround multitrack mixing has been a blast to play with). |

Apologies! I just discovered that this is a pc only forum (I was linked to it from the main page). I should point out that peak vst is a MAC editor. I don't recommend it anyway. It's a pain to edit with. |

| Which audio editor? |

I have used Wavelab, but of recent i have been using the editor in cubase and find it to be satisfactory (especially now I have a better understanding of it ).Surely it is more time consuming( firing up,importing/exporting etc.) using another program ,if you already have an audio editor in the program from which you seq/rec. in? |

I use Sonar XL 2.2
It is a good complete package. It is not design for surround sound, if that is an issue for you. It has excellent MIDI interface and automation capabilities and is quite a competent record/mix/edit/master software package. I highly recommend it!

I like Cool Edit Pro 2 the most so far, even though I'm still learning all the niffy tricks. |
