Midiman Delta AP 2496 v3.0.0 + OMS  Reply with quote

Hello !

I am having problems using the latest driver for my Delta Audiophile 2496 : all MIDI input and output (via OMS) stop working after installing it. It is sad since only the newer driver will let me change the audio buffer size...

PowerMac G4 Dual 1GHz/1GB, Mac OS 9.2.2, OMS 2.3.8, Cubase VST Score 5, M-Audio Delta Driver 3.0.0

Another happy mac user  Reply with quote

Hiya,

Just stumbled across this forum. Nice to see a section on macs.

I reckon nobody is posting 'cos the mac users aren't having problems (surprise). Look at all those poor frustrated PC users out there Smile

Personally I have both a mac and a decent pc, but i easily prefer the mac. Quite funny I have had many many problems with my pc in the past, yet i have had none with the mac..

Oh well, just thought i'd try and help populate this post.

Cheers.

Perhaps because Microsoft purposely put flaws in their software so it breaks down and you have to pay for the latest version.

Logic Pro VS Pro Tools LE  Reply with quote

Hi there Mac users!
When I first got serious about audio production I went by the advice of my more experienced friend and pursued Logic Pro rather than Pro Tools LE. I really have no complaints about Logic Pro; however, I have been taking training courses for Pro Tools and have found that program to be much more thought out in some ways. Anyone who is experienced with both programs, do you have any preference between the two and WHY? I have found that Logic is very midi friendly. One down side to pro tools LE is the restriction to their own interfaces and such when using the program unless you have an ADAT light pipe on your interface and connect a different one up using that. In this case you would still need the initial interface connected. Anyone with ANY preference between Logic Pro and Pro Tools LE please provde some insight.

This is a kind discussion that go on forever! I enjoy working both on Logic and Pro Tools. While yeah Logic's MIDI system is a lot more intuitive and 'logical', Pro Tools' MIDI is a bit painful but workable if you get used to it. The only problem I found with Logic is its inability to process files offline - which I hopefully wish they introduce in the next version.
