<iNSTiNCTDK> exactly... hey i was reading about the recordin process of evanescence's album and the outside of the kick drum was recorded using a Yamaha NS10 monitor...sounds cool
<ben_m> similiar thing happened with Muse - using studio monitor as mic!

<ben_m> it gives a 'different' sound to say the least
<ben_m> if you think the speaker cone is acting as the diaphragm
<ben_m> much larger than the diaphragm in a normal mic
<ben_m> so harder to 'excite'
<ben_m> would probably give quite a lo-fi sound in many instances

<iNSTiNCTDK> hey chris, i dont know if u remember but i asked a couple weeks ago if we had to request the certificate or if it is sent automatically because i read somewhere that we had to request it... its in the last line from the Course Description where it says 'You are also eligible for a Certificate in, Advanced Music Technology, Advanced Recording Techniques or Digital Audio Operations when you have successfully taken one course (60 poin

<Duncan> Chris, I found those past papres really useful for revision - I assume they were actual past papers - I noticed a certain amount of repition of themes any questions over the years - will they be a reasonable indicator for the exams or is it just luck of the draw?

<Audiocourses> though typically they throw in some random questions which can make one think..

<Duncan> I need to make sure I think about the questions before diving in - when first reading some of the past papers they seemd really hard but just giving it a bit of thought first made me realise I did know the answers

<Duncan> Yeah - I think 3 hours is plenty of time to be able to take your time and make sure you get it right
