<Duncan> There were some really hard FM synthesis questions
<Audiocourses> Ohh FM synthesis...  kinda boring huh?

<Duncan> Some parts were but others took me by surprise - griff was the same when we spoke after
<ben_m> what sections did you find the most difficult?
<Duncan> Wouldn't like to say but didn't feel as confident as after the RT exam
<Duncan> I think the FM synthesis ones - questions about ratio modulators or something like that!!

<Duncan> It was also quite surreal doing the exam in John Mizzi's kitchen!!!!!
<Audiocourses> Personally I feel the MT concepts are more difficult to grasp... not so tangiable..
<ben_m> FM synthesis has never been covered in that much depth to my knowledge in previous papers

<Duncan> Just a secd - I will fetch the paper and give you some of the questions

<Duncan> I arrived at the address expecting some big office building and it was a normal street of houses - thought it was a wind up at first until griff turned up!

<Duncan> I'm 34 so a few to go until I retire

<Duncan> Wouldn't mind an early retirement though so I can sit and write music all day - I have however now reaquirred my thirst for knowledge after this course so have pretty much decided to do the digital audio course when it starts

<Duncan> REally enjoyed this course and feel as though I have really learned a lot and increased my confidence 'in the studio'

<ben_m> digital audio is quite a tricky subject, but has quite a binary feel if you excuse the pun

<Audiocourses> Yes Duncan it does
<Duncan> I guess it will be easier though to concentrate on one topic than doing 2 simultaneaously as with this course

<Audiocourses> I think we will be sorting out the staffing through the summer
<Duncan> I assume it will take a similar format to this course - questions and practicals etc. I could always re-sit MT when I take that exam!!!!! (full of confidence)

<Duncan> Yeah - I think it is a good way of learning - quite intense but you learn a lot

<Duncan> It would have been good for a few more practicals and perhaps praticals one week and questions the next to give a bit of variety although I guess you would not get through everything that needed to be covered on that basis or the course would be twice as long
