ok.....I am making a song....I recorded four tracks.....how do I put them together to make one song? I have 2 guitar tracks....1 bass and 1 drums. I don't know how to put them together! and after I do that What should I do to put them on a cd? If someone can help me I'd be forever in your debt!!!! and btw I'm completly retarded...so Talk in lamens terms! lol! Thanks! |

What do you mean by "put them together"?
Mixing? - to mix you use the mixer window and "balance" the levels until you are happy with the sound.
I don't us this program, but to make a CD you'd have to export the mix to a 16 bit 44.1kHz stereo .wav file and burn that to an audio CD.

Once you have set your levels, done all the EQ and FX etc, and you have the mix how you like it, in the multitrack view, Go to Edit > Mixdown to file > All Audio tracks.
It will then create a stereo .wav file, which you then need to save as a 16 bit 44.1khz .wav file.
Is that what you wanted to know?

start by getting the overall sound how you want it with eq, compression reverbs etc.. making sure that none of the frequencies clash (slight eq changes are required here). once the overall sound is "mixed" bounce it down to a single stereo track and listen.. if you find any high frequencies that sound harsh etc or low frequency rumbles eq them till its perfect as an entire composition (this is a simplified version of mastering). for low frequencies try rolling off between anything under 40Hz (especially with drums this often reduces the perceived "muddiness") although i dont like vst's for any audio work, you could, and only if you really have to, use a mastering plug-in like Izotope. Once the Sound is to your taste bounce the track down to a .Wav file. hope this helps. peace. |
