Purpose of job:
To work as part of the University Faculty's computer support team to maintain and develop the Faculty's learning resources, focussing on Music and Multimedia.
If you are interested in being part of the music tech team, and have a strong background in music tech computers, PC and also MAC, and want to live near London/Oxford, you are encouraged to apply.
You must have a strong background in computers and audio signal paths, and be able to "fix" audio equipment.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. To ensure that all learning resources in the faculty are fully operatonal, particularly Music technology.
2. To provide technical support to faculty staff and students using the resources
3. To assist in student practical sessions providing assistance to teaching staff.
4. To be alert to security issues regarding faculty equipment and computing facilities.
5. To follow facult procedures for the installation of software and hardware, both MAC and PC.
6. To document routines and operations relating to resource operation and software installation.
7. To liase with other support staff, either faculty or central, as necessary.
8. To attend conferences, exhibitions, seminars and similar events as appropriate.
9. Any other such reasonable duties as agreed with the Principle Technician. _________________ It's all in the ears. - Learn the concepts not the software.
