Live Mixing Consoles  Reply with quote

I'm looking into purchasing a new console for my FOH, I'm looking into the midas Verona 48 which I've used the midas pre's and they are super clean super nice, but i was wondering if you had any opinion on any other consoles that are high quality but within the 12000 to 20000 range. We're looking analog and digital.

A few that come to mind are:

Allen & Heath ML5000, (fantastic for the price but verona is nicer sound)
Yamaha PM5D
You could probs get a Midas Legend for 20k, which is lovely.
Digidesin VENUE perhaps?
dont know much about the yamaha analogue consoles
steer clear of soundcraft, the layouts are horrendous.
Also as alot of new digital desks have been released there is alot on the second hand market at the moment.

P.S. Although designed as a studio desk, i have used a Yam DM2000 live, and they are an extremely capable desk and a joy to use.

I would totally agree with the Allen and Heath. Isn't the Yamaha PM5D a little old now? how about the Yamaha M7CL? don't know how much it costs but it's supposed to be a really good digital console. Or even the Mackie TT24.

when i do a lil work for this band we use a Mackie Onyx 24800 desk, its good a nice layout and i find it really easy to use, also has group mutes n stuff which can be handy at times. i think it has like a couple of stereo groups n such.

i find most Mackie stuff really easy to use.
