i was on a strict budget so i only have the basics
a £20 pc mic (normal not condensor)
and adobe audition 2.0
problem is
im a hip hop artist and my vocals drown out the beat
also they lie on top they dont blend with the beat
i heard dynamic prosessing can help me but it only destroys the vocals
can anyone help me out??
again i know this is cheeky for a first post and im sorry for that

Compress the vocals so they are more controllable. Then EQ the vocals to sit in the music, take out frequesncies in the music that are clouding the vocals if needs be until it all sits right.
EQ is the key I think with your situation.

Start by compressing the vocals (not to much). Set the levels till it sits "almost perfect" and start sweeping the eq frequencies till you find which are clashing and either "drop them down" SLIGHTLY. Eq isnt about all or nothing, its the subtle changes that will make a good mix brilliant or a brilliant mix platinum.
peace.
