Best Piano Software/Plugin ?  Reply with quote

I would just love to buy a real Piano. But I simply do not have the space to put it anywhere, nor the money to buy a descent one. So I am looking to go for a software based Piano to reproduce the sounds.

So my question is, what is the actual best piece of software / plug in that creates the most realistic piano sound?

I have been using Reason for a good while now, and yea the Piano sounds a bit like a Piano, but it also sounds so cheap! I was listening to the NI Akoustic Piano samples HERE and was impressed by the upright Piano sound.

Are there any other good sounding Piano's out there? Smile

Thanks

Though this is a really "old" thread,
Shocked I recommend you to use virtual piano program.
This is program with real piano sound.
Hopefully my suggestion still make sense to you.

Good morning,

This is certainly an issue that I have faced in the past. Often the piano sounds provided in more generic plugins is poor and certainly does not replicate a real piano.

I am currently using Steinberg's The Grand 2. Although it is pretty heavy on resources (there are almost 2GB of samples with different hammer and release parameters as well as an effects processing engine that allows you to place the piano physically in a room and move it around) the quality is very good indeed.

If you are looking for an authentic concert piano sound and have a nice big chunk of RAM available then this wll do it for you.

It can be used as a virtual synth VST plugin in DAWs or as a standalone application producing audio output.

Check it out.
