Help!!!  Reply with quote

HEY
i just wanna ask that
when i record vocals on my computer for music
so it dont fit or mix in music.
it is like that vocals is playing another room and music is playing in anothr room
many people give me different suggestions
like
some says that buy a new large diaphragm condencer mic ( cause i hav very cheap computer mic )
but a guy i know.. he mixes vocals with the same mic that i have.. HOW!!? Confused
there is a problem that he is not telling me the way
he just gimmi hint that its all depend upon EQs , boosting etc etc
like that
please help me in this
i know there r lotsa engineers here
ok
thanks
regards...

hey, depends on the situation and the effect you are after, the "norm" is a single mono mic for vocals (usually large diaphragm condenser) cause the vocals usually sit flush in the centre of the mix.

cheers

what is the point of asking for advice and then ignoring everything i say. try what i told you!!

@proengineer: why would you record vocals in stereo, its completely nonsensical as there is only a single point source. vocals are intrinsically mono. stereo vocals would be a waste of tape.
