Are you sure you want to know?  Reply with quote

Well where do I start? Laughing ...cd burner always 'burnt out'....not enough creative time, the little time we had ,eaten into, by musicians!!too much maths and electronics.....no student union....not enough parking....too many bad food joints in the vicinity ..building sites..Prince Charles taking over our dept.....the list goes on!... and to top it all ,the programme leader left at the end of the first year(apparently to become a pasta chef in Italy!!!)....but the standard of teaching was good and I did learn a sh** load!

School Food  Reply with quote

Typical list of bad bits there, Will, with some proposed remedies!

Bad Food - take a packed lunch (or get some pasta recipies off someone)
Gear not working - fix it
Maths - get a calculator
Electronics - fix your mixing desk
Creative time limited - stay up late
Royal visits - semtex

Your positive things didn't include funky chicks, [or guys, whatever you are into]

Cheers

Cool new equipment  Reply with quote

Hi

I thought there would be more response in this topic but anyway.

My school is just a standard secondary school or high school to you yanks out there. But in the last 18 months or so we got an allen & heath 40 channel mixer, 2 handheld shure radio mics, 3 top of the range sennheiser lavaliers. 30 martin mac intelligent lights, a new drum kit and mics to make it louder and the list goes on.

Considering there are only 600 people in it and its a public school id say thats pretty good.

I bet in a dedicated techy school you have more than that but anywayz

This term!!!!  Reply with quote

Well, they have built 2 new buildings(one of them seems to be in the style of the Titanic and the other is yet to be finished!),filled one with students, forgetting they need more parking spaces, in an already really bad parking situation. It is bad news.In a rural area like Cornwall it is really important for the college to provide good parking-I guess the negative affect ,will be students choosing another college to study at, that does have parking.
We finished maths last term... but all we seem to do in electronics is.....MATHS!
But we do have a new studio which seems pretty good(apart from the mishmash of bands practicing ,which can be heard in the control room!)
