Richard Chaplow, audiocourses.com graduate. City & Guilds syllabus seen on the wall behind.Richard works as a Financial Systems Development Assistant for a Local Authority and at present he is looking to find work in a Recording Studio, Radio Station or Television Studio. Richard's interests include Music Production (using drum machines & synthesizers as well as software such as Reason, Cubase and T-Racks), DJ’ing, Computer Technology, Video Games, Snowboarding and anything to do with Music.

His favourite musical genres are HipHop, Drum & Bass, BreakBeat, Rock and Independent and he has previously performed live Drum & Bass DJ sets and would like to continue to do so on a larger scale. His long-term goal is to become an independent record producer and to further his DJ career. Richard states "There are no such things as good and bad music. There are only opinions!"

"The course was very interesting, covering different aspects of sound engineering. I found it most enjoyable. The tutors were available during the 2 hour weekly session and also at other times by e-mail and yahoo messenger. The audiocourses website was also very helpful. There was a mix of practical and theoretical assignments and most students met on a weekly basis in the live session. Occasionally meeting up during the week for extra sessions, as well as communicating via e-mail. Overall, I enjoyed the course very much and feel that it has improved my knowledge of sound greatly. I look forward to continuing my studies and progressing to employment as a sound engineer. "
